Enfield Grammar School

The Staff | Drama Society | Reunions | Audio & video

A secondary school for boys, founded in 1558 close to the market place in Enfield Town in North London. The original building still forms a part of the school facing St Andrew’s Church. It remained a grammar school until 1967, since when it has been a comprehensive, now with academy status. These recollections are from my years there 1954-1962.

Details of the school today are on the official website, whilst something of the history of the school and some notable alumni can be found on Wikipedia.

Thanks to Rob Kittle, Jim Hickman and Tom Lane for these pictures – maybe some other fellows as well! All of Rob’s photos are on his photo sharing site, where they are also rather helpfully sorted into albums.
